I have a browning synthetic stalker 300wsm. Great on deer, elk, antelope, coyotes, whatever. Drops them all in their tracks and shoots 150 gr ballistic silvertips best.

Have a LH Tikka in stainless and love way it shoots and never noticed the recoil as being severe.

If'n a person is concerned about recoil then just get on dem girly men calibers like a .243 or 6mm. or maybe one dem subsonic .30 cal designer guns

My .338 WSM is built on a Browning A-bolt Stalker.
The newer short action X bolt would be an excellent platform for a light weight mountain rifle with one dem lightweight McMillan stocks
