    Adjustable Gas block

    I’m building my first AR of any kind which will be a AR10. Is a adjustable Gas block a must?

    Superlative makes a good one.

    I'd say yes.

    Also go with a rifle length buffer tube with a strong spring and buffer

    The bolt carrier group is substantially larger in mass. It requires more to soak up recoil.

    Adjustable gas blocks control where the spent case ejects

      I've done a few of these

      A misaligned gas block can be really frustrating

      Plan in advance

      Buy a dimpled barrel
      Buy a dimple mount gas block

      Equals= perfectly aligned gas block

      Superlative makes good one

        I do have a dimpled barrel. I look the looks of the superlative.

          I think its a must. Ar10s are hard to get to cycle right. I have one on mine and it runs like a champ.

            I wouldn't say a must since you can change other parts out to adjust the cycling, but I do have them on all of mine. They make life easier. I mainly use SLR. My latest though is a Seekins swithcblock and it is awesome for what I use it for.

              Yes especially if you plan on using a suppressor
