    New scope for AR

First off I'll confess to being that guy that'll put a $50 scope on a 500 dollar rifle. LoL. I've done this my entire life with really no scope issues. I'm going to scope an AR 5.56 rifle to be used for range play and hunting. Scopes I'm considering is the Nikon prostaff 2.5- 10x or a lower tier Leupold in a similar range. Not interested in vortex, I tried a diamond back this year and not impressed. Maybe some input from shooters that use these models. I'm not going to spend over 300 for glass.

I also know this is a Ford Chevy thing, and both are good scopes, I'm leaning towards Nikon for a mid tier or a Leupold entry level.

Leupold 3-9 rifleman is under 200$ usually and a good quality scope

I’d look at the leupold freedoms. They are around $200. I’ve got 2 and have been impressed

I know you didnt mention bushnell, but they have an AR optics scope we put on an M&P15-22 and an M&P15. No complaints after 2 years. Under $200. Good luck!

I just read this and googled it . There's some info about the discontinued production of rifle scopes... Oh well more the reason to go Leupold, been around for ever and totally American owned. Warranty no worry!

Just put one on an AR-15 for a young man. He really likes it!

I just picked up 2 of these, Leupold VX-Freedom AR 3-9x40 - TMR Riflescopes, and I'm looking forward to using them.

After reading the news about Nikon and my less than favorable experience with a Vortex, I think anything Leupold is the clear winner. Even the entry level line.

The Burris Fullfield 2 is another good budget friendly option.

Vortex, Primary Arms, Burris if you want to keep it cheap and functional.
