I'm thinking I need a .30 cal/7mm of some sort. Really interested in the 280ai or a 16" .308

This year it was a 300 wm as dedicated elk gun. I'm thinking next year something that's adequate for elk / perfect for deer, and light enough to carry. That might be 280AI.... I have a 7mm Rem Mag I love, but every elk guy I ask says too many pencil throughs on elk. 280 AI seems about the same to me. Much to ponder.
