    204 Ruger Ammo Help

Hey, I have a 204 Howa. Have had it a while.

It shoots the factory federal premium 39gr. Blitz kings lights out.

However, my stash of those has ran out. And they don't seem to exist anymore.

It did not like the 40 grain v max at all. And the 32 vmax I think I remember shooting decent.

I have scoured google for old stock with no luck.

Anybody else shooting a 204 and have advice on a different round?

I do not have reloading equipment.

My Ruger 204 shot the fiocchi rounds a touch better than the hornady v max, I believe fiocchi uses the 40gr hornady v max bullet in their ammo.

Just saw the fiochhi rounds on google. May give them a shot and the remington 32s.

Also came across some 35 grain nosler varmageddons.

My cz 527 varmint loved those federal rounds but they went the way of the dodo. I swapped over to the next best shooting load for my rifle and that's the fiochi 40 gr vmax. Cheap ammo knocks coyotes on the ground with authority and shoot great. Really wish they would bring back those federal rounds. They were awesome on coyotes and shot phenomenal from the bench.

Will add that when I shot my rifle initially I had 6 different flavors of shells I tried before settling on the fiochi. I couldnt get any Hornady ammo to shoot and the Remington stuff didn't shoot good either. I buy the fiochi by the case these days online and just get it when they have free shipping days. I can't get anything I can actually find local to shoot.

I know a guy that kills 100+ coyotes a Winter with the 32gr V-Max. If you can get those to shoot they'll do the trick.

Mine was the same. The 39 grain would stick them in a ragged hole.

If I remember right the 32 v max was dime sized groups.

40 grain vmax over an inch.

And some hsm round about quarter sized.

                  Fiocci is sounding promising.

Not going to buy reloading gear. Don't have the time, $, or space.
