    10mm Question

    GS,

Money is pretty tight so I have been thinking about selling my S&W 1006. The problem is that they seem to be rare enough that it's hard for me to put a price on it. I don't want to low-ball myself, but at the same time I don't want to over price it. Most I see are BNIB or very close to it. The listing is years old in some cases. All I have is the pistol (in good condition), and four factory mags, so it's hard to make a comparison. Any advice from the gun sellers/traders/collectors out there? Is there a good resource for pricing pistols if comps aren't available? Thanks in advance.

Good luck on your sale. I absolutely love my 10mm. Probably by far my favorite gun to shoot.

go to gunbroker and search 'advanced' then check completed listings.

There are two current listed 1006s at $633 and $800 right now up for bid.

The completed auctions range from around $800 upwards to $1300ish for NIB with box/papers/etc. That should give you a good idea where to start.

1000- 1100.00 with 4 mags if the pistol is in good shape

I agree completely. If it wasn't Christmas, and I need cash, I would not consider selling it.

I paid $820 for mine about 6 years ago. Mags are bloody expensive for the 1006, so having 4 will jack your price up.

With the four mags you should get $1000 for a quick sale. Probably $1200 tops if you are willing to wait a month or two.

I'll post some pics in a little while when I get back to the house.

Always loved the 1006. Last one's I saw at a gunshow went 900-1000. Mags in decent shape running 50-100. I've had to sell a couple of my guns in the past and it's always a tough decision.

Just so there is no confusion the pistol isn't for sale yet. I was asked to post pics so here they are. If there are any opinions on my "good condition" claim I'd like to know. I consider it to be in good shape, but I don't sell guns often. If anyone has thrown out an estimate of value and the pics change your mind please let me know. Thanks for all the info so far. I've always been amazed at the hive mind that is the Green Screen.

So how does mine compare to the one from the gun show? About the same condition?

Never seen a S&W in 10mm, to have one, with four mags, would be worth a decent amount, not sure how much. I know finding stainless 10mm mags for my Delta Gold Cup, was very hard. Then I got a EEA Witness, in stainless, finding 10mm Mags for that gun in blued or stainless was, pretty much impossible, but a buddy found two stainless mags, not sure where. S&W stainless 10mm mags would have to be a lot more rare than either of the two types I have had.
