    6.5 prc

APR should be finished with my build soon and trying to figure out what bullet I'm going to hunt with. Looking to hear from others that have a PRC, 6.5x284 or even 264 win mag. Shot max on game will be 500 and under. Need something that will hold up to close range impacts and also help with wind on longer shots. This rifle will be going to New Mexico next season for Mule Deer.

    I have been using 143eldx in my 6.5 saum. From 100yd to 515yd it’s been a hammer

I also have 150 rounds loaded up with 135gr JLK but haven’t put them on game yet

I have a 6.5 PRC in an APR from this years TBH build. I was gonna break in the barrel with factory 143 Hornady ELDx and switch to a hand load but it likes that round so good I haven’t switched. Absolutely wicked on whitetail.

Have you shot anything with the TGK? That is definitely one that I am considering.

I've been using the 124gr hammer hunter in the 26 nosler and using the 156gr Berger Elite hunter in my 6.5-284, both have done their job well.

No deer but lots of hogs, complete pass through every time.

I second this motion I'd like some feedback as well. This bullet is about the perfect fit with our chamber as it optimizes case capacity when loaded to the lands........and still has plenty of mag clearance. Looks like it would provide a good blend of velocity and BC for a hunting bullet. I know it shoots well..........just have not seen any results on game.

Wife shot this 200lb boar with the 130 TGK. She hit him in Shoulder and it exited 3-4 inches behind opposite shoulder, you can see the blood on dirt where bullet exited. Distance was 160 yards. She loves shooting my 6.5 prc so I had APR build her one, they called And told me it’s ready to be picked up can’t wait to get my hands on it.

That's pretty encouraging! Dave was going to try his on Moose this past season, but ended up playing it safe going with Barnes at the last minute. Thanks for choosing us for her build!

I have been very, very happy with my 140gr Berger Elite Hunter's and the 156gr Berger EOL. Both rounds are sub MOA out to 200 yards and deadly on whitetail and axis.

Mine shoots the 143 eldx great. Have killed two deer. High shoulder at 230 and drt and pass through. Tried a lung shoot at 100. Massive damage and a great blood trail. No exit. Ran 25 yards.

This is the feedback I was hoping for. I plan to load the 130 TGK in my prc as well.

I haven't shot anything other than factory in mine as I've been focusing on other loading but this is next on my list.

I've always thought the sgk was under rated and a deadly killer, while they didn't greatly improve the bc, adding a plastic tip is a start.
