Bipod for shooting in sitting position

Looking for a bipod that can extend for a sitting shooting position (probably around 24-28” extended) and can also be used shooting prone (10-12”). Rough numbers, of course. Preferably lightweight carbon legs for mountain hunts. Anybody have success using something in both sitting and prone shooting positions?

I hunt from a sitting and probe position a ton hunting predators as well as muleys in the Sandhills and mountains. Best thing I use for both is a set of shooting sticks for when sitting and then use a pack as a rest for when prone. We tried using the bipods for sitting and prone and it just didn't work quickly or quietly enough and you don't get those quick adjustment up down or side to side like you can with sticks. So we dumped them and moved to sticks.

I agree with westtexducks. I have several Harris bipods of different lengths and the only one I use with any regularity anymore is my short one if I am at a bench at the range doing load development.

When I am calling varmints, or hunting big game for that matter, I use the Primos Jim Shockey Edition adjustable tripod. I can use it anywhere from prone all the way to standing up.

I also use it with my spotting scope. They are much more versatile than a bipod attached to your rifle.

I agree with the above. I have also shot prone by using my binoculars as a rest. Put the large objective end on the ground and put the rifle between the eye pieces. Obviously not best case scenario but works great in a pinch. Lol

Ckye pod will do all of this if you are willing to pay for it. If this doesn’t work for your budget, I would get some cheaper fold up shooting sticks to use while sitting and bipod mounted for prone.

I use a Monopod, cheap one from Wal-Mart. I've killed a lot of stuff off of them.

Primos Trigger Stick for sitting and a pack for shooting prone. Might also look at the Swagger bipod.
