My absolute favorite all around bullet in the 556 AR is the Sierra 65 Game King. Accurate, good BC, expands good, yet digs deep. It is all I shoot for hunting in my 556. Doesn't matter if coyotes, hogs, deer, whatever.

I use the same load (LC brass, CCI 450, 24.2 grains Benchmark) with both the 65 SGK for hunting, and the 62 Hornady BTHP for training. Both pretty much shoot to the same point of impact at 200 yards (within a half MOA or so), and both are well under 1 MOA loads. Works really good to have the BTHP as cheap practice ammo and then the SGK as a good hard hitting hunting load.

I too run the 65 SGK, as well as the 62 gr Barnes TSX in 9-twist barrels. No complaints, both get the job done - but in full disclosure, 95% are head shots.

I’ve put quite a few hogs down in the 150-200 yd range with the 75 while running thermal. I just put it at the base of the neck and let her eat. I’ve flattened quite a few 175-225 lb boars and sows that way.

39 grain blitzking is a monster out of my 204 as well. And same thing, federal stopped selling them.
I may still have some projectiles. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll look. That’s if you hand load.

I don't. I wish I was capable. Those both shot the best groups out of my rifles over about a dozen others I tried. I may have to just get some rolled and pay the $.

If I have them they’re yours for the cost of shipping. I bought a few hundred to try, then never ended up using them. Just don’t know if they have survived the few moves lol

For my Remington 78 with a 1-12" twist I use handloads. Speer 70gr semi-spitzer. Its the heaviest (short enough)bullet my rifle can handle. 2850 fps is about the minimum I can push them for stability Ive chronographed some at 3100 but the bullet desinarrates on bone. My pet load is 23.5 gr of imr 4895 in once fired, neck sized brass. 3 shot under a dime at 100 yrds. Ive also used Sierra 63gr and hornady 60 gr with great results. Nosler partition don't shoot well out of my rifle. 3 hogs I took with my pea-shooter a few weeks ago

If I deer hunted with .223 I would use the 64gr. bonded bullet that shoots good in my Ruger Am Ranch. Not sure what brand they are, I picked them up in a 500 round bag at the reloading store. It also likes the Hornady 68 gr. hollow point bit I am not sure how it will perform in a deer. It shoots 75 gr amax well, but they wont fit in the mag, and I am not sure about that bullet.
If this gun kills a deer, most likely will be one of my grandchildren, although the oldest is trying to claim my weatherby 25-06.

Avoid the BTHP in .223– they are very accurate but terminal performance is not predictable. MUCH better bullet choices on the market today.

Monos (Barnes) are great esp if your menu includes lots of hogs.

For primarily deer the 64gr bonded are good.

BUT- I’m a big fan of the predictable performance of the ELDM/AMAX line of bullets, esp for thin skinned game like deer. The 73gr ELDM Suoerformance, flattens deer, pass throughs with quarter plus size exits from 50 to 150.

Well that’s 3 hogs right there that won’t be tearing up someone’s yard. Good shooting [emoji106]

The federal fusion has been the best performing in my opinion.

60gr Hornady American whitetail a close second.

                        Sierracharlie out…

75 grain Hornady black is bar none my favorite

Not sure what inconsistent results ppl have had with BTHP they are the gold standard. Not a fan of Barnes at all... Haven't had good luck

The 75 grainers hit HARD nothing ive hit have run with them. I've shot them out to 600 yards

                              Mines 1:8 18”

This is a 62g fusion I recovered in a mud clot on a full pass through 210 boar

Killed the 300 pounder I posted last week same round to shoulder quartered too...drt

I shoot it in all my tournaments. It shoots good 1.25”ish at 100 (and I’m not an avid shooter) and performed well

My daughter shoots the 75g black bthp. It’s all the punch I can get... but they shoot like @$$ at 100... 3” at best. At 50 which was her limit, I could keep em in a quarter and her a snuff can... so that’s what she shoots/shot

What rounds are you using in your 39, is it an AR or rifle? I’m going to build me a rifle.
