    Red dot on a 10/22

I have a 10/22 I put together a few years ago. The only thing still Ruger is the receiver. I have all kidd parts on it. I am thinking of taking the scope off and putting a strike force 2 or the Leupold red dot scope on it. Anyone have experience with either one ? Main use will be coon and spotlight gun.

Try out a holosun 510c. They go for about $250. I have around 5k rounds on one that I put on a JP 9mm AR. Big viewing window and a super bright dot. They can run off of battery, solar or both.

A 1-4 scope with illuminated reticle would be a better option IMO
I have had reddots on rifles and much prefer the scopes

depends on what you will be doing. standard red dot for acquiring your target quicker and rapid follow up shots and like said before, 1-4x illuminated for slower thought out shots. I like my cheapo single power for riding around shooting corn thiefs.

I also use a cheap red dot. I have a couple of the Clovis red dots. They work well for $50.

I have an inexpensive red dot on a plinker 10/22. Its a blast to shoot, errrrr but it's very quiet at the same time.

I have a Vortex Strikefire on my Buckmark carbine and a supressor. Everyone that shoots it says its one of the best guns they have ever shot as far as being fun to plink with and super quick target acquisition. If i was planning on shooting much farther than 40-50 yds i would look into a low power scope. They are great for plinking and big target but they are not meant for precision. Even at shorter distance.

For right now a fun gun is the goal. I just picked up a 77/22 that I will use for accuracy. The 10/22 will just be something fun to shoot coons and rabbits with.

The Vortex dot is good but not as rugged as the Leupold. 2MOA is largest I’d go on a rifle.

My KIDD 10/22 shoots lights-out to 75 yds with a Leupold 2-7. More accurate than any AR platform I've ever shot. 10/22s aren't all created equal.
