I've ordered my stencils from Marking Methods and they're great quality but I'd like to make my own when needed. I use the Marking Methods machine to etch but I'd like to know if anyone uses an old school typewriter or if anyone has a preferred impact printer they use that I can transfer files from my computer with different fonts and whatnot on barrels. I've ran through as much Youtube and forum info as I can with limited success so any help would be appreciated. This may do better in the DIY forum so I'll add there as well

Back in the day, this is what most GS’s used for etching and engraving on barrels

I recently stared doing it with brass. I use glossy magazine paper and laser print my design in reverse then transfer it with heat and pressure. (I’m doing flat stock so I’m my case a laminated works. For a barrel you’d need to heat the barrel then tape down the stencil and work it with an iron)
Good luck
