JP springs and buffers for big bore AR's

Hey guys. A while back I purchased a .450 Bushmaster upper from Midway. Put a Vortex Strikefire on it. Ordered some shells for it in 250Gr and 300Gr.
Eye eye eye! My shoulder is purple...a little bit. But it hurts like remember shooting Dads .12ga as a boy.
I am looking at a JP springs silent buffer kit with a extra Tungsten weight to ease the recoil. I see Midway has them less expensive than JP does themselves. Strange. Anyway...before I spend over $200 trying ease recoil are these buffers and springs the way to go?

    Thanks.

Every AR that I own besides my duty rifle has a JP spring in it, they're awesome especially suppressed.

Just finished .50 Beowulf and .458 socom about a month ago. Have adaptive tactical stocks on both and Armaspec steath recoil systems. Recoil is very low on both rifles and armaspec is half the price of jp silent capture. Armaspec SRS-BB 5.7oz(for .450, .458 and .50 big bore). Stock was $25 from joebob outfitters and recoil was from Ranier I think or maybe straight from Armaspec-$79.

See...this is why I start these threads...never heard of Armaspec and I am all about saving a few dollars. Nice to have options.

This is this product you are referring to...correct?
Did you have to add any additional weights to the system?

yes, SRS-BB 5.7oz. If you email Armaspec and tell them your bbl length and caliber they will recommend which one to use. This is what they say to use on their website. https://armaspec.com/product/stealth...spring/#SRS-BB 5.7oz - For .458 Socom/.450 Bushmaster/.50 Beowulf [Estimated to ship within 5 days]

Thank you...I can buy Two for what I would pay for a JP and extra weights.
              Thanks for the tip!

I think you would feel more relief from an adjustable gas block first. Then maybe jp spring, jp also makes a variable mass bcg you can add weights too as well

I've been having some malfunctions in my Larue 260 AR that I shoot mostly suppressed, but if it's really dirty - have issues un-suppressed as well.

*Would this help potentially with cycling?

Thats cool...Glad you made use out of it. The AR in 5.56 with one of those buffers must make it run as smooth as a water gun.
I also bought a adjustable gas block https://www.midwayusa.com/product/43...k-ar-15-lr-308 and a recoil pad in addition to the Armaspec buffer to help with the 450 Bushmaster recoil. Next might be the muzzle break. I waiting for all these parts to come in and back to the range. That will give my shoulder some time to dissipate the broken blood vessels in, on and around my shoulder
The 300 gr bullets were particularly mean to me.

Hats off to Sidro for giving me a alternative to the JP product...WHICH...I still may buy in addition to the Armaspec.

I am still waiting to shoot mine, it's 98% complete. 458 SOCOM, I put a adjustable gas block and JP Enterprises buffer kit, bought the kit with the extra springs and weights so I could experiment with the springs, buffer weights and the gas block. So hopefully I can get it working smoothly.

FYI...there is a guy in the classifieds selling a case of .458SOCOM.

Good luck with it. The Vortex Strikefire on it has held up so far. I am waiting on the adjustable gas block. These calibers kick pretty good.
