Anyone use a Photon on an AR10 .308

    I'm contemplating getting a Photon.
Someone is going to let me use theirs to try it out.

    Here are my question.
    1) If you get on a Sounder and start busting caps at them does the scope washout? If so how do you overcome it?

My Vortex HST and Sniper Hawg Light combo does.
Busting caps means multiple shots. Like bang bang bang bang etc

Washout means the smoke from the shot reflects the light back into you objective lens and you can't see until it clears.

    2) If you bust caps @ a Sounder does the scope hold zero?

I have a .308 bolt gun too. Trying to decide which rifle I might put it on.

I have watched Jason's and Hans videos and don't recollect these questions being covered.

    Thank you for your time

    1) You will need to mess with the IR mount on the rifle. I have found that mounting the light as far forward as possible at the bottom of the rifle helps with washout. This works fine for hunting off a tripod. When I am hunting from a blind I push the light as far forward as I can but it is not on the bottom of the rail, it'd be hitting the window ledge if it was.

    2) Yes it does. I use a torque wrench for scope mounting and blue loctite on all my optics. Have not had a problem with .308. The new RTs have a rating up to .375.

      Thank you.
      This is my current setup.

I have one spot where I have to mount the light under the barrel @ the front of the handguard. I haven't paid attention to see if it reduces the wash out...

I normally can just one shot off. Trying to change that.

I have had more of an issue with dropping the line of site into tall grass and causing washout.

This is a concern of mine.
My feeder's are set in tree lines and the grass is tall right now
