    Double tap

Was out this evening shooting off a few rounds, that turned into 100rds, I was trying to double tap a sheet of printer paper. First round dead on 2nd consistently about 8-10”. Any ideas on how to keep good control. I was shooting both my Caniks oneis a TP9SF Elite the other TP9SFX.

Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast. Work on a stronger grip which will decrease gun movement. What rounds are you shooting? Practice with low power, then work up to full power.

Dont snap the shot. Should be a fluid motion. Dont focus on getting that 2nd shot off, stay focused on the target while maintaining grip. You'll "feel"when your back on target once you've got the fluidity down.

slow down to speed up,,, think controlled pair instead of double tap, speed with accuracy only comes by repetition....... of doing it right,,,,

I use to teach rookies,, draw fast shoot slow,, they all became much faster and more acurate

After shooting off 100 rounds, was your offhand forearm fatigued? If not, you need more squeeze there for recoil management. Slow down until you see two sight pictures with two clean trigger breaks.

Thanks for all the pointers. My first 2 clips were hornady critical defense rounds. Then shot the rest with Winchester white box. Haven’t had time to shoot anymore yet. Maybe this week end.

Try to find some good videos of pro shooters. JJ Racaza is one of the best instructors on how to shoot fast and accurate.

                      Didn’t think of that. I’ll check’em out.

What distance are you shooting? I recommend getting some IPSC targets and some tape for them so you’re not just shooting printer paper. And look at the bill drill. Do that and try and keep your hits in the A zone. Don’t focus on trying to shoot as fast as you can. You can work on speed or accuracy, then put the two together. You can’t practice both at the same time.

And don’t practice these drills with your carry ammo or +P ammo. Best to use cheaper and low recoiling ammo. If 9mm look into some 147 grain subs. Oddly enough heavier bullets with low powder charges have a softer recoil impulse.

Shooting distance is 10yrds. I’ll try & find some of the 147gr. Thanks.
