GarySeriously though easterns seem to be a lot harder to kill than a rio. You have to work to tag out here. Been hunting turkeys a long time kind dumb to me to just kill what you call in close doesn’t always work that way. Esp with a wise ol limb hanger. Prefer them close but i prefer turkey fajitas a lot more

Honestly any high brass load with #4-6 with a full or modified choke is all you need or you can go the route of a rifle, centerfire or rimfire.
I have recently started shooting TSS with an extended extra full choke getting great patterns to 50 yds, but wouldn’t hesitate to take a shot at 60 yds.

Go pattern what you have. And see how far it is lethal.
That said, you'd hate to be stuck with a gobbler hung up at 60 yards and a 20 ga. with dove load.
I was glad to have a 3-1/2" Nitro Turkey (Nos. 4, 5 & 6) in my 870 Super Mag with an xtrafull when that happened to me.
