    Loading for Grendel

Have not done much handloading for the past 20 yrs. Still have the old Rock Chucker and most dies etc., except for the expendables (powder/primers). My old book is a 1979 Speer #10 so I picked up a Hornady book . Lots of new powders! The main round I want to load for is the Grendel. Not looking for a recipe but just to see which powders you guys have been getting the accuracy with. Knowing I will have to work up my own loads, Just don't want to get a bunch of powders I may not need. PS- I like speed but want accuracy with it.
Another PS- This is a copy from another site I subscribe to.

I've tried a few and my barrel does not seem to be too picky, it has shot them all well, I have used XBR 8208, CFE 223, H335 but I mainly stick with the H335, i have the most of it on the shelf. I have not tried Leverevolution but I hear it works good too. A quick google search will provide many more avenues to explore.

I am using Benchmark with CCI450's, 100-123 grain bullets and having good results. Tac also works, but the "go to" powder that most seem to favor for the Grendel is 8208 XBR.

Another +1 for Benchmark and 120-123gr

8208 XBR has been a good mix of velocity and accuracy for me.

CFE223 gets the best velocity but is more sensitive to finding the right node in my barrel.

As you know each gun will be different.

For target work, I get fantastic accuracy with Sierra 123 grain Matchkings. I prefer CCI Small Rifle Magnum primers and have had great results with BLC2 and Varget.

CFE223 and 123gr SSTs for target/hunting. Shoot very tight for me and have a great BC for the size.

Best powder I found was reloader 15 with 123amax bullets. Bugholes then 2.5 inch group at 850 yards.

My BCA liked everything I loaded with H322, so that is another powder you might and its gaining popularity in the grendel community.

XBR 8208 has been my go to powder. I had no luck with any of the loads I loaded with CFE.

Same here on the XBR 8208. It’s been great

I've tried XBR8208 and CFE223 but had the best luck with H322. As mentioned, every gun will be different.

CFE223 but had temperature sensitivity issues with it

Keep 'em comin folks. I have been trollin other sites and written material also.
Will be working up loads for hunting and my preference, I believe, will be in the 120 - 130 grn range.
My rifle has shot everything on the shelf good so far and I have tried just about everything I could find except steel case. I stay away from that stuff.
