What coating for beat up Remington Police Magnum 12G?

It’s mainly used for hogs and venemous snakes now. Probably will just keep it in a ranch truck.

Not sure I want to put on a rattle can finish. Though there is the option of using a friend’s blast cabinet to strip the metal parts down with a gentle media.
