Daniel Defense mk12 and Nikon black x1000

I started a thread asking about a DD v7 pro a while back and several members chimed in saying DD were good rifles. So after some research I settled on the mk 12 thinking it would fit my needs better. Mounted up a Nikon black x1000 4-16x50 illuminated MRAD scope, in a Nikon black mount, and hit the range today. I got her on paper and starting playing with a few different types of ammo. I shot Fed AE 55gr fmj, Hornady black 63gr fmj, and 55gr Winchester soft points all with fairly poor results. I was bummed, but then moved up to some Hornady black 75gr bthp and the little gun came alive. I shot a 5 shot group I was pleased with at 100 and made adjustments to zero. I then used a Hornady ballistic app and dialed up for 200 and 300 for a few rounds each. This was my first time playing with a scope with tactical style turrets and MILS vs MOA was different for sure. Plan to take this rig out to 500 and learn the ropes and then buy me a gun for longer range shooting. I'm really impressed with the Nikon for the money and it seems to track great and is super bright. Thanks for suggestions on the Daniel and I look forward to getting more trigger time behind this rifle soon.

The gong pic is my 2 shots at 300. They were alittle high, but the ballistics app seemed fairly accurate.
