375 ruger

Looking at purchasing one. Wanted some feed back from the guys who have shot/use this caliber. Pros/Cons. Thanks in advanced.

Only con is ammo not readily available on the dark continent. Every PH has H&H on hand in case your ammo doesn't make it. Good round. I bought a .416 Ruger from AHR with a bit of hesitation for the ammo availability issue. Love the gun. Same performance (roughly) as other .416s in a standard action length (same case as .375 Ruger).

Liked it a lot but the ONLY reason I sold it was the ammo challenge as mentioned above

I have one and ammo is a little tough to find but I bought 40 boxes, figured that will last me a lifetime.

It works pretty good on pigs, have shot 2 with mine

Big caliber my friend, bear/moose/African Big game

I shot one animal with mine, big Alaskan black bear at 20 yards...rolled his butt & dropped him

Pro - does anything the H&H will do, but out of a 20” barrel
Pro - with certain bullets it has the trajectory of a 340 Wby
Pro - with certain bullets there isn’t much need to go bigger
Pro - can be downloaded to 375win levels for a hard hitting, no recoil deer round
Pro - a 300gr bullet can be loaded mild and kill everything on this half of the world
Pro - at full power, recoil is just a bigger version of the 30-06

Con - ammo is available but hand loading really opens up your options

You got that right! I use my Sako 375 H&H on everything. Long live the king!

Yeah, like a 30-06 on roids. I have one in a Patriot, and it will smooth fly out of your hands if you're not ready.
