Opinions on Leupold Mark AR mod 1 6-18x40

I'm looking for a scope for a 5.56 AR with alittle more magnification. Will be a range toy and I hope to learn to shoot out to 4-500 yards. Looking to stay around $500 if possible. Would this scope be a decent choice? Thanks!

Guess what I was trying to say before falling asleep mid conversation is if you want to try out mine, I’d be more than happy to pay your range fee.
I like for hunting but wish I had the 18x when I’m at the range.

Thanks for the info and offer! I looked at the 6-18 today and I'm not 100 percent sure I like it for the money. Thanks again!
