"What Kind of Groups Do Yo Get?"

I think I know the answer to the question, but why the question is asked is what I am asking.
I think this question is asked because everyone wants to know how much the shot changes as a barrel gets hot from shooting it a lot back to back.
But my rifle shooting is about like most bowhunters bow shot.
    1 and done.
So does grouping really matter when buying a used gun from someone?

Just wanting to learn something here.
    Thank You

A gun that does not group is kinda worthless to me. Especially if hunting, you could end up wounding an animal.

I use 3-shot groups and wait 4-5 minutes between shots. Then when I have picked the load, I zero the rifle for whatever range. Then a week or so later I return to the range and do a cold-barrel, one shot test and repeat a week later. If the results are good and rifle is holding zero, I’m done.

I've reached the point where the only interesting rifle is an accurate rifle. If I can't get it to shoot 3/4" or less than I'm really not interested. Most of my guns will shoot under 1/2". Me on the other hand.

I know what you mean. I am not a gun shooter by no means therefore my brother who is a really good marksman shoots my guns for me and tells me that everything is good then I will hunt with it and make the 1 shot at hogs. I haven't shot a gun at any of the most desired animals in years, only a bow.

It absolutely matters. If I purchase a gun that shoots 3” groups I won’t be very happy.

I take three rifles to the range. Shoot three shot groups from each before I get back to the first. By that time the barrel of the first has cooled.

I see we have a big group of very knowledgeable gun people here. What I am learning is that my brother does quite a bit of work to be able to tell me "All good with your gun"
                  LOL
