    Gunsmith question for Caliber change

Google doesn’t tell me everything, so....

I have a Remington 700 SPS Tactical in 300 Blackout

I recently bought a Rem 700 SPS barrel in 308.

Besides swapping the barrels, is there anything else I need to do / buy to transform the 300 Black to the 308?

    Assuming chamber is fine? Thanks

    The bolt faces are different.

It will be cheaper in the long run to sell the parts and buy a 308.

You'll need a .473" bolt face with the 308 Win. You can open the bolt face of the one you have which is for the .223 family(.378") or simply purchase a SA .473" bolt either factory or aftermarket. With adding a factory take off barrel it probably isn't worth it. If you were going to blue print and use a good high quality aftermarket barrel then doing as I described might be worth it. Hope this makes sense.

Well, I think the gentleman has covered it.
