I’ll throw one out that hasn’t been said yet, 7mm STW.

I been shooting 140 ttsx Barnes at pigs in my 280ai at a bit over 3100 last weekend one shot 3pigs. First was a 130lb sow a head shot at about 75yrds went right through hit the next in the gut passed through also and hit a smaller one in the back. The smaller ones had their guts hanging out when I walked up to them. Dead of course but devastating.

Not sure about devastating, but I've killed most of my pigs with a mini 14 .223 FMJ in the field, or .22 LR in a trap. Never had a problem with either one, unless it was my error. 30-30 and .243 have both dropped them without a problem. Compound bow with a Rage broadhead has worked well also. I've never had a need to devastate them any more than that.

The 450 bushmaster leaves impressive holes going in and coming out.

Wanting a new gun with a stainless finish and don’t know what caliber to go with is the reason for the post... One round that piqued my interest is a .224 valkryie, any other suggestions?

This is exactly as I found it. Notice it was so devastating it even blew the leg off.
I’ve killed a pile of animals in the face, but he clearly knows his *****!

Just start shooting the largest caliber guns you can find and when you find something bigger than what you are shooting that you want to pull the trigger on again BUY one
We have killed pigs/hogs (up to 309#) with a .22 rimfire but I shot one in the head with a .270 that got up and stumbled off like a drunk too ( was going in woods when I last saw it, had already switched onto the other one and was trying to kill it too)
If I just wanted to buy a gun to shoot hogs with I would probably go .45-70 lever gun

Here is a pic of the steps forming it. It's a handloading option only.
