Vortex AMR supposedly is pretty good for something to compare against the Swaro.

      I’m more and likely doing a VX5HD 3-15x56 or the Sawaro Z5 5-25x52

Already have the Leupold just have to see how light I wanna go. I’m doing a 22-250 so weight isn’t a huge deal

Hey! I like NF and the SHV is way lighter than the NXS.

One problem with the Z5 is 1" tube and only has 25" of windage adjustment. That wouldn't normally be a problem as long as action is drilled perfect. Had a buddy that had one on a Christensen Arms Carbon Custom and impossible to zero the rifle without windage adjustable rings. A Leupold VX-6HD 3-18x50 firedot duplex replaced it and he's much happier. The Swaro also had the ballistic turret and it's limited to 4 elevation adjustments up. For a hunting rifle with sane shots not a biggie but if you like to shoot to 700 or further it can be. Optically not that much difference if any.

The original Z6's were huge and heavy, haven't seen a Gen 2.

I'll be hanging my vx6hd 4-24 in seekins rings. Not the lightest at 24 ounces but I don't have a goal of a 7 pound loaded sheep rifle either.

If I wanted to shave more it would be the vx6 2-12.

Pretty hard to argue the ones above. If anyone is on the cheap, I have a loaner rifle I put together for buddies that come out west. The cheap Mossberg patriot compact w/ vortex diamondback 2.5 to 12x40 14.5 oz, and shoots sub MOA. Its a great bargain lightweight shooter.

The March 3-24x42 checks all of the boxes on a build like this for me. Well.......right up until I have to pay for it anyway

VX-6HD in 3-18x50 is looking real nice at 20.4 oz.
Z6(i) in 3-18x50 also lookie real nice... 21.7 oz.

I was also recently trying to choose between the swaro z6 2.5-15x44 and the leupold v6hd 3-18x44 for my lightweight build. I went with the leupold since I got one pretty cheap during black friday. We'll see if I regret it (haven't received scope yet).

This thread is timely. I've been trying to figure out which scope to buy for the upcoming APR build too. I'm really leaning toward a 6.5 manbun. I have a .300 Win Mag with a Leupold 4.5-14x50 that I could move over to the APR and have a new turret made. So a new cope might just go on the .300 Win Mag. The Leupold and Swaro suggestions really help.

                              Leupold VX 5HD 3x15. 19oz

If anyone knows a place with good deals on them let me know. Would upgrade to vx6hd if deal was right but illuminated reticle and 3x isn’t a requirement

I don't worry a ton with ounces but can also vouch the 3-18x44 VX6 is an outstanding choice for all around glass. I have the 4-24 on my 280ai but that's a lot of scope on a lw rig for most but worth considering and not having to pack a spotter
