    Benchmark in 300 win mag

I've got a 300 win Mag but I'm not a huge fan of being thumped everytile I pul the trigger. My question is this. I have a load I use for 308 with benchmark, could I just use this same powder load in the 300 Mag? The gun has sentimental value that is why I ask.

You are definitely not going be able to use the same load. I don't see Benchmark on the list for use in the 300 win mag.
Looks like your going to have to buy some powder.
Hornady makes a custom light load for the 300 win mag that's 308 velocity. I bet it kicks about the same as well. Yes I

Agree with this. The old Speer manuals had reduced loads for most cartridges, not sure these days who has them.

Be very careful with reduced loads. Too light of a charge can cause kabooms just like over charging can.

Load a 110-125grain bullet that should help reduce the thump.

Trailboss. Load 70% to 100% of a case full (to the base of the bullet-do not compress it!). A cast bullet would work in the application as well, it keeps cost down. I do this in a 300 mag, as well as a 375 and a 416 Rigby. Lots easier on the dental work.
