I say go for option one. It sounds like you’re very confident in the barrels already and you’re just wanting to do some more testing to verify your results. I’m sure everyone will want the quicker lead times anyway.
I’m in for a tier 1.
I would also like to know if we can have the Gen 2 action subbed in. I know it’s heavier but I think I like it better.

In my mind, a tac-style action and DBM system really don't fit on the Tier 1 type of build. The goal for that one was as light as possible. Which means it is probably going to be carried a lot. When not slung, most folks carry the rifle on the natural balance point right under the action area. It needs to be comfortable and fit in the contour of your hand. Which is hard to do with a big metal box protruding down. That's why we won't be offering a DBM version on that one, but if you can live with the smaller loading port, we'll gladly sub a G2 in there for you.
Ultimately, we don't want to do too many substitutions or variants on this one after we land on the final blue print. Not because we don't want to give everyone exactly what they want, but because we want to keep the pricing at about 2/3rds of normal costs for this deal. Keeping the parts list and workflow streamlined helps a bunch with that.

I kind of left the door open for DBM and G2 action on the tier 2 version since weight wasn't really a big issue on that version. Heck, it only exists because some folks actually wanted a heavier version than the original concept.

So the tier 1 option won’t be able to have a detachable mag? I know it’s about weight and all but I love the ability to drop the mag to load another couple rounds or swap mags during predator hunts. Rather than opening the bolt and loading through the action.
One more question. On triggers you said triggertech. Will these all be the same? Or
Will there be a choice between curved or flat?

Hunter version. Notice all of the access you have to load rounds from directly above the magazine.
G2 version. You are going to have less room to get that round and thumb in there with anything fatter than a 308 sized case. Short mags can be challenging. We made the angles a little more friendly, but its still tight.

Ok I understand. Honestly the only reason I was saying I liked the G2 action was that it’s the newest action y’all have, and it looks cleaner from the side by not having that gap under the rail.
