    Which one?

What pistol would you reccomend out of these listed? Really went your thoughts on these two, but open to options and opinions.

    1. Ruger Super Redhawk .44 mag

    or

    2. Smith and Wesson Performance Center 629 Hunter .44 mag

    Thanks.

are these revolvers to be scoped? What ranges do you anticipate taking game at? Do you compete at metallic silohuette? do you handload ammo, cast bullets? do you know somebody who does? such guns require a lot of practice to be reliable takers of say, deer, at 50 yds or so. Such ammo is very expensive from stores. Are you already comfortable with accurate use of such hard-kicking, LOUD pistols? You might find a Contender, in 7mm tcu a lot tamer to use, with at least 50% more power and range than the .44's, altho a longer barrel is used/needed to attain that speed and power.

The super redhawk can live on loads that will destroy the smith. I have a 9.5" SRH. My grandson loves to shoot it with "normal" .44 mag loads. Very tame in that monster pistol. It is also not too bad with heavy loaded 310 gr. loads. Very accurate.

I like the super black hawks. But gave up my 44’s for .357’s

I think you have them listed in the right order if you want a hunting gun because like stated above the Ruger was designed to push the envelope of the load.
However for a great side arm with smooth action I do like a quality Smith. I would look for an older pre lock gun, nothing against the lock it just kind of punctuates the time frame that S&W revolvers sort of lost something they used to have.

Any reason you want a double action trigger? If it's for hunting, I'd take a single action blackhawk over both as you can make those single action triggers pretty incredible.

Both are fine revolvers. I believe the SRH is a stronger built pistol. I think the S&W on average is more accurate.

The single action trigger on a smith is considerably better than the blackhawk will ever be, and i say that as a lover of ruger blackhawks

both are great high quality guns,,,, the ruger can handle stiffer loads that would be preferred for hunting and the 44mag can reach out a lot farther than 50 yards for hunting,,, so if your going to shoot a lot a stronger pistol is the better choice,, if your going to only hunt with it and not run super hot loads all the time the S&W will make you happy

I polished the sear and installed a 12# spring (was 17) in mt Redhawk. It's nice.
