    Favorite 223 Ammo for Deer

I know some will say it is too small, but for those of you who hunt deer with a 223, what is your go to off the shelf ammo? I’d like to take one with the AR this year. I did a quick search, but didn’t see anything.

    Thanks,
    Skooter

Your AR will most likely have a fast twist and therefore shoot heavier bullets more accurately. I would choose a hunting bullet between 60 and 75 grains.
Those Gold Dots above look interesting and so does the Federal Fusion.
I'd stay away from lighter bullets unless you have a 20" or longer barrel to increase velocity.

The heavies grain it will shoot accurately in order to get the most energy I can. The last couple I shot with a 223 I used hornady steel match 75 gr bthp.
