Probably apples to oranges BUT I have been less than impressed with critical defense performance in pistol calibers on human flesh. So much I stopped carrying it. With that, personally I wouldnt give the rifle bullet a chance unless it was free

At the moment my favorite 300 BO bullet is the remington hog hammer. That being said Ive never shot the a-max everyone here seems to like.

I always felt like a 55 grain vmax would be the way to go for a defensive AR.

For my AR I carry 77 grain MK loaded by IMI, the velocity is better that what I can reload. The bullet perform great on pigs and deer, I know some say don't shoot a match bullet but these work really good out to 250 yards.

Most of the test dummies must have been praying cause they're still alive. Hence my lack of confidence in the bullet
