    Suppressed SBR???

If a man wanted to build a suppressed SBR, what would be the process to do so legally. Wanting to build a suppressed .300blk but dont I dont want it any longer than a standard AR.

I need to know how to go about getting the appropriate documentation to purchase and posses both the supressor and to legally put a full stock on a pistol length upper.

Easiest way? Buy a factory built SBR, do the paperwork through the dealer and let it sit in Jail until approved. That's basically what you'll have to do with your suppressor as well, assuming you plan to buy one instead of building your own.

If you plan to build the rifle, you at least need the lower to begin with as the Manufacturer, Model and Serial number are required. They also want to know what caliber you intend it to be, though people do run multi caliber lowers and change uppers out. Keep the upper you spec it out with handy and change it out when not in use just to avoid any kind of a technicality.

It also wouldn't hurt to have your stock assembly, upper receiver and barrel as they ask the overall length. I've never heard of anyone having an issue in that area but that's not to say it can't happen so the more accurate you can fill the application out the better off you'll be. If you don't want to go that route in early stages, just make sure you know the barrel length you intend to use and base it off of that.

      *Edit

You can still absolutely do the SBR build on your own, you just need to figure out if you're doing this for you and you only or if you intend to put it through a trust so others can possess it. For a trust, find a local dealer that has a Silencer Shop Kiosk, take everyone who will be on it there with you for fingerprints, photographs, etc and then do the paperwork there. The information from that should also work for your suppressor.

First I would find an attorney who is familiar with gun trust and create a trust.
After have your trust created file a form 1 with the ATF and send them $200. For the tax stamp. This is the form required to create an NFA item. It can be downloaded from their website.
A form 4 will be required to purchase a suppressor but whoever you purchase from should be able to file that for you.
Again there will be a $200 fee for your tax stamps.
Wait 9-12 months and you should be good to go.

That’s not exact but hopefully it gives you an idea.

If you’re going to dedicate the suppressor to the SBR then I would permanently attach an 8” can to an 8” barrel. One stamp gun.

AR pistol with a brace and a can. One stamp and can move the can from gun to gun.

Contact Sean Cody, Sc-texas on here, to setup trust. Buy said suppressor from dealer, (IE: Capitol Armory) and form one an ar lower. Wait entirely to long for both to be approved. Once approved, put pistol upper on form one’d rifle lower, attach suppressor and done.

Having gone through the process of getting several SBRs both factory and self built, if I were to do another one today I’d build a pistol with a shockwave brace and forego the SBR. You’ll still have to go through the process for the can.

This is exactly what I just did. Already have 1 suppressor and another should be out of jail any day.

This is what I did. The Shockwave brace is Allen wrench adjustable on length and will get to a decent usable distance.

Sounds like a terrible idea. If you get a baffle strike, how do you plan on sending it in? Or dealing with having an unregistered sbr in the interim?

Op, I think Daniel defense makes an integrally suppressed rifle. I think it’s just a one stamp thing.

Serviceable from the end cap. If you had to send it somewhere you’d send the whole upper. The remaining lower wouldn’t be an unregistered SBR.
