    Athlon rifle scopes

Hi does anyone own/use a athlon ares or Midas scope? How do they compare to bushnell elites in regards to lense quality?

    #2
Ares is pretty comparable i would say, the midas less so.

The Ares ETR is supposed to come out soon and a LOOOT of ppl are really interested in that scope.

I know Stick1 has been shooting a Cronus and has been really impressed with it

Yes it's been a real mixed bag I was hoping that someone on here might have actually bought one and offered their views rather than reviews that might be sponsored

Cronus and Aries The ares replaced a NF if that mean much . Cronus has a few more features ..

Compared to Vortex not even close optics far better in my opinion . The cronus is as good as my US optics which would scare most people at the price tag ..

However IF you can find the pre buy deal on the LRHSI grab one outstanding glass and right now 600 for them , they are no longer making that exact model it was 1500 not too long ago I have one of those on my Christian arms MR 6.5 Link if your interested ..

GA Precision offers a wide range of high-quality optics and scope components for precision shooting. From scope rings to spotting scopes and riflescopes, explore our selection to enhance your shooting experience.

You cannot go wrong with the aries series I am going to add a Spotting scope in the aries line up as well .. I have been nothing but blown away at the product

I have an Ares 4.5-27 mil version. Love it. No problem picking up 1moa steel target at 1100 yards a few months ago with it. Tracking is spot on, I had zero misses due to elevation in that match, it matched up almost perfectly with my ballistic app. (Wind and shooter error, that's another story!)

Where are you located at? If you are around Brazoria County (South of Houston) you're welcome to meet me at my range and put a few rounds through it. Can get to 600 yards there.

It really is great when you get it dialed in then just start to ring steel at long ranges a good scope just makes me smile

You know what’s really fun? Ringing steel at distance with a suppressed 22. I just giggle when I connect when lobbing one in.

The Athlon Ares and Cronus models are solid performers. The Cronus line is coming out of the same Japanese factory that makes MOST of the highly regarded brands that folks are familiar with. The Ares line is the most impressive Chinese manufactured scope I have seen to date. Both represent significant values in quality optics. Great tracking, good travel, good reticles, great zero stops with good glass in the Ares and great glass in the Cronus, plus great customer support. I don't think any other brand is delivering more features for the price point at the moment. My only complaint is the slightly mushy turrets, but they are usable. Worth looking at for sure.

Set out metal bucket at 200 yards and lob them in .

Do you think the Cronus is better than the gen 2 razor? Leupold mk6? NF atacr? I know the NF is slightly higher but not much. And do you think mushy turrets are acceptable on a $2000 Cronus?
