    Thread pitch adapters?

Has anyone used them? I was getting ready to go to the range to finally shoot my suppressor and it does not fit.

Radical Firearms says that their 10.5" 300bo is 5/8x24 thread and so does my AAC Cyclone but the cyclone is much larger than the barrel. Trying to find an adapter around Fort Worth now

That sounds really odd. Can you post some pics of the threads on the AAC & the barrel? A local gunstore should have some type of muzzle devices they could do some testing with to figure out what's up.

I have one on one of my rifles. You have to be careful because many times it makes the threads not concentric with the bore.

300 Blackout should be threaded 5/8-24. If it’s not I’d be on the phone with RF.

I tried to call them a couple times with no answer. We’ll see what they say to my email.

Will post up some pics soon

Radical says it is 5/8x24 and so does AAC. The flash hider that came on the upper threads fine but the can just slips right over not even touching the threads

Give morgan a call at Class 3 machining. Hes in the Dallas area. Im sure he can help you figure out a solution and if a adapter is needed hes one of the best in the business to build you one.

Sounds like your barrel is thread 1/2-28. That would be unusual for a .30 caliber but would be normal for a .22 caliber. Do you have a micrometer or thread gauge?

I don’t, gonna grab one tomorrow. Bradley at Radicals says they are 100% sure it’s 5/8x24. I will try and call AAC tomorrow. One of the companies is out of spec

Actually you should be able tell with a tape measure or ruler. Measure the thread diameter on the barrel and also on the threaded part of the suppressor. Sounds like the barrel threads are gonna be 1/2 inch and the suppressor threads are gonna be 5/8 inch. You can also count the threads per inch by using a tape. If the threads aren't an inch long count the threads in half an inch and multiply by 2.

I would not use any thread adapter in your situation. Something isn’t right there, and needs to be corrected by a manufacturer. Hopefully it’s the barrel, that’s a much easier and faster fix. Plus Radical will take care of you, AAC has a reputation of horrible CS.

alright I feel really dumb. Even though in the description when I bought it the thread pitch was listed as 5/8x24 turns out it is an M18x1

Now I have to figure out how to get an adapter to go 5/8x24 to M18x1 instead of the other way around or it means that now I have to buy a Sako, Tikka or Blaser so that I can use this can that I waited over a year for

                      Champagne problems I guess

                        So the can is M18x1?

                          Glad you figured it out.

Bought a 300 rum on here that was threaded and "pretty sure it was 5/8's" and when I got it was lucky enough to find out that is not the case and my cans wont fit so I have to do a adaptor but will more and likely get it rethreaded I guess.... O'well. The threads are bigger then 5/8's so no idea what pattern that would be

This sucks, now you will have to run an adapter on almost everything. Or get everything custom threads cut. Either way don’t skimp and get it done right. AAC definitely won’t warranty any damage if there is a thread adapter involved.

Where did you buy it from? Somebody would be giving me the correct can.
