I see the SF is lighter but what other differences are there if any?

Actually, the SF stands for Slim Frame I think. Less circumference around the grip for smaller hands.

SF is “short frame”, it refers to the distance from the back of the grip to the trigger. So it actually is a smaller circumference grip.

Gen 4 has replaceable back straps to adjust grip size, and a reversible mag release. The trigger components and recoil spring/guide rod are different on the 4th gen also.

Magazines should be interchangeable on all models unless you swap the mag release to left, then only gen 4 mags will work. Buying a gen 4 gets you an extra mag from the factory also.

Only holding them will tell you which one you prefer.

I’ve had all models and prefer the Gen 4. The mag release is better, I like the texture of the frame better and it’s just the right size with no back strap installed. The muzzle flip seems less with the Gen 4 recoil system as well.

Thanks guys. Good info. Wanted a lower priced pistol that I wouldn’t mind getting dirty occasionally or scratched.
