    10mm Ammo

Just got a 10mm. Never had one. I'd like to get opinions on what rounds y'all are using to kill deer with. Thanks

Never shot @ a deer with my 10mm. I seen vids of shooting African big game using Double Tap 230 grain.

I shot a sow hog with 180 grain Hydrashoks and the bullet expansion was perfect with zero fragmentation’s. I shot it while driving on my ATV after sitting in the tree bow hunting till dark in the stand. Drive back to camp and run into a group of em. Life happens.

I’ve killed 2 does with mine. One using Hornady 200 grain XTP handloads and one using Underwood 220 grain hard cast. Both went 20 yards or less after being hit.

In your stock barrel I wouldn’t recommend the hard cast loads.

In my G20, I've shot a lot of HSM flat point cast, but they're copper plated. It will thump the hell out of a hog if you hit him in the head/neck/shoulders. In my G40, I've not settled on a load yet, nor have I hunted with it, but I have some Underwood that I'm gonna try.

the winchester silvertip load is still one of the very best,,, it will expand and hold together,,, decide if you want a heavy non expanding slug or an expanding one,,, velocity is important to expansion,

I hunt a lot with my 10mm’s, and my go to Ammo is the Buffalo Bore 220 grain hardcast.

Ive never tried hunting with it but my G29 it is my daily carry and its full of underwood xtreme hunter 150g. I still go back and for between my G32C and G29 as a side while hunting.

Shot a doe with 200 gr xtps from Dallas reloads back in Nov. She didn't take a step and looked like lightening hit her. Full penetration and exit. Large wound channel

                          I've used 180 XTP's on deer.
