Need help choosing between HD or non-HD Leupold VX-6

Can someone help me choose between these two scopes? There's a huge price difference. I am putting it on an 18" LaRue 6.5 Grendel for ~500yd target shooting and daytime coyote hunting.

    $949: Leupold VX-6 3-18X50mm TMOA 120174: https://www.eurooptic.com/120174-Leu...MOA-12017.aspx

    $1799: Leupold VX-6HD 3-18x50mm Illum TMOA Scope 171576: https://www.eurooptic.com/Leupold-VX...llum-TMOA.aspx

I think there is a big difference in the glass between the HD and non HD glass. If you can live with 15 power I would seriously consider the 3-15 VX-5HD. I can't really see any difference in the glass between the 5 and 6 and to me the extra magnification isn't worth the price difference.

Will be the same glass in the 5 and 6.

      Just mag difference

I’m leaning towards a VX5HD 3-15 for my APR 257 and the VX6 for the 300 rum. I wanna reachhhhhhhhh our and touch something.

Or I’ll just go with a Zeiss V6.

      Still can’t decide

If I'm looking in the right places, the VX-5HD comes in either a 42mm or a 56mm objective vs the 50mm of the VX-6HD. They may have the same coatings. I also do not see the T-MOA reticle in the VX-5HD lineup.

          TMOA not offered yet.

For the 56 it’s just the fire dot or Plex (can’t remember which exactly)

Edit: 56 also has German 4f and heavy plex it looks like

I have a vortex viper on my rifle that i hunt with so i may not be the best to give advice

But my cousin has a Leupold somethin or other on his 7mag that is HD. When i looked through it a month or two ago......HOLY MOLY!!!!! I want one!!!! If i could convince my purchasing dept to cut a PO# , I'd have one like yesterday!!

If a person can afford it and obviously if you're considering it, you can I'd go HD everytime. I dont even like Leupold but that baby makes me wanna change

If I'm going to spend this much money on glass, I'd like it to have better subtensions.

If you are open to considering a used VX6 non hd but in 4-24x52 with Alumina flip caps and bubble level shoot me a PM. Has the TMOA reticle.
