    Lehigh controlled chaos 6.5 creedmoor

Has anyone tried these in the larger calibers like 6.5 Grendel creedmoor or 308? They look like they would destroy stuff. I liked Barnes but they did lack some internal damage since they are designed to penetrate and give up some rapid expansion. This seems to give up the penetration for rapid expansion.

    Thoughts?

It is supposed to be a good hunting round from what I have read but it seems to me that there would be a lack of blood trails due to a massive dump of KE in the body cavity. Some people say they see the same thing with the SSTs but there are tons of people using the SSTs for hunting still. I think there is a need for a good bonded hunting bullet in the 6.5 platform in the 120-125 range. Alot of people like the Nosler ballistic tips but I had a bad experience with a BT ruining an entire backstrap and have not used them since.

So IDK man Im having a hard time deciding on a 6.5 bullet as well.

You can get the Federal 140gr Fusion in 6.5 Creed if you are down with shooting factory loads. That bullet has impressed me in every caliber I have used it in.

I've shot deer and pigs with the ELDX with mixed results. I've got the Hornady interlock SP in 140 people say work well land now I'm going to try the 122gr chaos as well. If not I may go with 130 swift bullets or a partition or AFrame just worried AFrame may be to well constructed

I would really like to do some testing with the ELDX but they dont make a lighter 6.5 projectile that I am aware of. Im shooting a Grendel. I have killed numerous deer with the interlocks (308) and it performs awesomely but again their selection in 6.5 is only heavies if I remember right. I cant check while Im at work sadly.

Federal's fusions are my favorite hands down but again no light 6.5 bullets and you cant get them for reloads so SOL there also.

I just got the last box at Midway of the 100gr interlocks. You could use the AMax in the Grendel. Slower speed should help keep it from blowing up. They are making a 100gr ELD match bullet that might work well on deer.

SP bullets seem to open slower and don't explode as easy and that was my problem with the ELDX no real pass through. The chaos seems like something is coming out the other side.

Handloader magazine had a write up on hunting bullet performance last month. I have my own opinions about hunting bullets and will leave it at that. But if you get a chance to read the article, its a good read.

I have some reservations about the ELDM performance in a hunting setting but will be testing it on some pigges very soon hopefully!

I shot a doe at 335 yards with the hornday interlock. Entrance was as expected and the exit was about the size of a baseball. She ran about 15 yards.

No sir, I am still old fashioned and prefer a paper magazine. I tend to keep my Handloader magazines and throw all the other ones away.

In the Grendel you will not have that problem about ruining a backstrap. Velocity is low enough that you will not get explosive expansion.

I much prefer faster bullets doing extreme damage to a tightly isolated area than a slow bullet designed to break apart and damage several muscle groups. It seems like common sense to me, if you trust your marksmanship and are primarily focused on recovering meat.

                              Referring to BT?
