I picked up a Maverick from Alamo Precision Rifles in 6.5 Creedmoor. I went back and forth on the caliber that I wanted and heard all the love and hate for the Creedmoor. After just finishing my first season with the rifle let me just say that I'm sold on the round and it just flat out rocks. Not to say that a different round couldn't have also got the job done but this gun is knocking down in its tracks everything I shoot it at and is shooting great groups with cheap Hornady American Whitetail Ammo.
I shot a cull a couple of weeks ago at 280 yards off of shooting sticks and like everything else I've shot before it the Creedmoor had the deer DRT. You can see the bullet impact the deer in the video. I blew right through the shoulder and had a pass through. The video quality isn't the best because I was zoomed in so far but you get the idea.
