    Suppressor - recoil reduction question

I've heard that a suppressor is the most effective muzzle brake. True or False?

This video testing a suppressor vs a lot of muzzle brakes makes me question that. What do those that own rifle suppressor say?

My lord some of those muzzle breaks made me cringe.
Give you some CTE of the Ears and face with that kinda noise lol

I don't have numbers for data, but I can tell you on every rifle I own, shooting it with a can is a noticeable reduction in perceived recoil. At least to me. A machine measuring it may or may not agree with me, I don't know. I do think in this case perception is reality.

Suppressor to me seems more reduction than muzzle brake. No brainer having to wear hearing protection to hunt vs. not having to worry about hearing at all while hunting.

I run an omega and hybrid on my .300 win mag and can shoot all day without a problem. Running in with the brake, I’m good for about 8 shots before i have to step away. Granted, I’m doing range shoots, not hunting, so I’m shooting quite a few rounds each day.

Rod's suppressed .308 kicks me a little more than my 6.5 cm with muzzle break.

There's no way that a suppressor is as effective a muzzle brake as a actual muzzle break. That said there are other benefits that make it far more preferred to use a silencer

This. Keep in mind the muzzle blast resonates through you and will feel like recoil. Just like when you're standing by someone shooting and the blast gets you. A GOOD brake can't be beat. But the suppressor makes a huge difference. I've shot a lot of different calibers with a can, with a brake, and with nothing. Brake is best at reducing recoil to your shoulder. But you can handle more recoil when you take away the blast. At least for me. That's why they are excellent pieces to have for training new shooters. Don't develope a flinch as bad if the blast doesn't slam you. My harvester has a brake built into the end of it. It makes a noticeable difference. I didn't think it would till we tested it laying prone. Downrange noise is less with it too. Blows most to the side.

HOw about a suppressor with a built in muzzle break? My Omaga 30 has a QD muzzle break.

                      Cool video.
I definitely notice the difference shooting my 7mm-08 bare vs. with the Rugged Razor 7.62.
Not surprising that dedicated brakes with backward or even radial porting reduce recoil further.

HUGE difference in recoil. My .300blk feels like an air rifle

Noticeable difference when I remove the brake and put the sandman on.

Is that one different than the one that comes on it?
