    Hornady Superformance vs Full Boar

Wife put Ruger American Compact 6.5cm on layaway for me for Christmas. looking at the superformance 120gr GMX and the full boar GMX. other than price and around 100fps , is there any more differences?

Went to the hornedy site and looks like the actual bullet is the same. Try a box of both to see what groups better.

I have only witnessed one rifle that shot the Superformance ammo worth a crap, and it wasn't great. I'd go buy as many different factory loads you can find and see what it shoots the best. When you find the one it likes, go back and buy every box of that lot # they have (or as many as your wallet will allow you to do).

Same here, shot poorly in a couple rifles that are easily sub MOA and experienced 3+ inch groups. Called and talked ip Hoenady about it and the person I talked to admitted his rifle does the same thing. He said if you rifle likes it then it does well "if you rifle doesn't like superformance it hates it".

My experience too except for two Mossberg ARs. It shoots well in them.

OP, try Federal Fusion if you can. I've had good results with it.

I've had good luck with it in T3 CTR 308. Verified velocity increase was legit with my rifle and chrono.

I hunt with a Vanguard in .270 and it absolutely loves the Superformance 130gr SST. Under an inch at 100 all day long as long as i do my part. Wife can hit what she wants to with that round but says it's a little rough on her shoulder. She's rather petite and normally shoots a .243 but circumstances required her to use my rifle one day and as a result she has complete confidence in the gun and that load.

Remington 700 marked 7MM express & 280 on the barrel?

                      Hello
I was a member back in 2016 but can ya help me anyhow? I have a question I need answered please.
I found a Remington 700 express at a pawn shop. It is marked Remington 7MM AND 280 on the barrel. The 280 looks like it is supposed to be there?
Is this a rare bird/ factory miss stamp or did a gunsmith mark it 280 for some reason.
Remington 700 express with a Leupold Vari X II 3x9x40 for $400.00 OTD and it is in good/excellent condition
Would someone be kind enough to stat a thread for me? I promise I won't tell shhhhhhh.
                      God bless!

PS I can send pictures tomorrow.
PS I will get the serial # also.
PSS Yes I know this is a "back door" way to ask this but I need to have some input. THANK YOU?

So many people have trouble with Superformance shooting well that I'd skip it and just try the regular stuff.

Remington tried in the 80s to breath more life in the 380 and renamed it 7mm Express which turned out to be a problem that some people could not tell the difference in 7mm Remington Express and 7mm Remington Magnum and after a few years went back to the 280 Remington name. So it was only made in the 7mm Express a few years. Don't think there is any real collectors value in them unless perhaps in new condition.

From what i can tell, the full boar is regular hornady, not the superformance. May try those first.
