    Reloading Question

Can you reload nickel plates cases?

Thought I read in one of the manuals that you couldn't but I can't find where I read that now.

No, you can’t. Send them to me for disposal. I’ll even pay shipping to help you out.

It's aluminum cases you shouldn't reload, nickel is fine for normal reloads but it shouldn't be reformed to another cartridge since the nickel can flake off.

I have nickel plated 38 special and 357 mag that have been tumbled and reloaded so many time that most of the nickel is gone.
          Better listen to M16.

Found where I read that, it was the Berger Manual.

I wouldn't feel right, let me split shipping with you!

Think I've only got like 40 pieces of Federal Premium 7mm Rem Mag cases. Was sorting through my brass and found them but remembered reading something about nickel plated cases.

I just started reloading so I wasn't sure.

They ran 2 thoughts into one sentence. Nickel plated and steel. Steel are also not reloadable. Plated are fine.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist. I’ve reloaded a lot of nickel plated brass without any problems. Some claims have been made that they can scratch the insides of your dies. Just check to make sure that none of the cases have any flaking and you should be fine.
