Gun hunting and using a deer decoy

Green screen, question for y'all. I currently hunt a place in South Texas that has nice deer but the big boys typically will not come any further than 300 to 400 yards of the blind during the rut. These are 160" class animals that are only normally seen during the rut. Has anyone used decoy/s to get them closer? I was thinking of using a bedding doe with a scrub buck looking over her. I am trying to get them about 200 to 250yrds away in my comfort shooting range.Thoughts?

I'd say definitely worth a try. I don't think you'll scare anything away. You might try some doe estrous scent too

I'd move 200 yds away from the blind and hunt.

This. Late in the season, after whacking several does at feeders, we used to set short tripods in the brush and whack until we met our goals. Works every time, just not as comfortable !

Good ideas guys! My goal is to get one of these mature bucks to stop chasing does long enough to see a challenger with one of his does and come investigate.

The feeders are at 175 to 200 yards from the blinds. We typically corn the road from the feeder to about 125 yards. This is South Texas sendero hunting. We all see those monster bucks in the background that never come in. Just to old and wise. Some nice deer get shot every year. Wanting to try to entice some of those long range beasts to commit to coming closer. We are not hunting until mid-December when the rut is going on. ( invite hunt, open to shoot mature bucks/ trophies.) This my 8th year to hunt this place and I absolute have a blast. Wanted to try something different to spice up a sit.
