I bought a Ruger American Rimfire on sale thru Buds and got it last Friday. Its a 22lr with a wood stock. Bought it for kids and nephews to shoot seems to be a nice little gun.
Well, last night I take it out of the safe to mount a scope and the stock was split length wise down the barrel channel. No dings, no marks and shipping box in perfect condition. Stock was not split when I received it and it did not fall or get dropped. I have an electric dehumidifier in that particular safe, so maybe the stock split from drying?
I looked online for replacement stock from Boyds and they are half as much as the gun cost. Do you think Ruger would sell me stock? I hate to ship the dang thing back for warranty and go thru that mess. Yall have any type experience with them?
