    Adjustable stock rifles

Anybody make a adjustable stock for something like a savage axis or ruger american? Or any company that makes an adjustable stock rifle? Would really rather have a bolt action than an AR. Needing something with adjustable stock so my 7yo son can shoot and so i can shoot it to. If not, ill probably go with an AR.

For the Ruger American short action rifles, Magpul is set to release the "American Hunter" stock by the end of this year. It's supposed to be a drop-in (no bedding required)option for the Ruger. It's supposed to be lightweight w/ adjustable LOP and cheek riser. I just picked another Ruger American and couple months ago. The original plan was to go w/ a Boyd's stock on this similar to my other RAR. But, I think I'm going to hold off and give this Magpul a try when it gets released.

I have the magpul stock on my 700, I still chose to bed it.

Didn't even know it was possible on theseveral stocks. How do you like the stock overall?

I love the fit and feel of the stock for shooting. I like that the barrel on mine is massively floating. I also like the detachable magazine. It allows for longer bullet lengths that my rifle prefers.

I do not do a full bedding. I epoxy bed the recoil lug, gunsmith showed me that this is all that is usually needed on any rifle, and I have done it to every non AR rifle that I have.

Howa makes a Ranchland 2 + 1, It comes with a youth stock and a full size stock that you must exchange.

Mossberg makes one with a removable section on the buttstock to change length of pull.

I'd highly recommend a Thompson Center Encore or Contender with a Choate Machine & Tool adjustable rifle stock.

                      All the best,
                      Glenn
