You have your less-than and greater-than signs confused.

If you're only shooting 150 yds, any 308 AR will be fine....typically it's not the Arrow its the Indian!

1/2 an inch group @ 400 yds. I really gotta get me some of that magic ammo.

I'm going to 2nd what 35Remington and -HIC- said. Gas guns are a different animal and have their own issues as they mentioned. Jump on the LaRue deal while it's there. It's a far better investment. And it WILL outshoot budget guns. Comparing one guy's claims with another guy's claims to determine which rifle to get is silly because every time I've seen ONE really good shooter test a "budget build" vs a quality name-brand (like LaRue) the high-end rifle outperformed. If you don't end up liking it, there's a market for a LaRue. If you buy/build a bargain bin AR you're stuck with it or going to give away a lot if you sell it. If you go this route, buy one of the MANY budget or Frankenguns that are always listed in the classifieds here, on AR15.com and Sniper's Hide. The volume of them being sold (compared to LaRue, Seekins, etc) ought to be an indicator.

Personally, though, I'm an accuracy guy - I demand a lot of accuracy or I'm moving that rifle down the road. 1 moa (1.047" @ 100yds) is my BARE minimum with a gas gun - .75 moa or less is my preference. In the heat of the moment, the extra accuracy can help mitigate some excitement.

The LaRue is BARELY above your budget - go for it and own a truly quality precision gas gun from a Texas company with EXCEPTIONAL customer service. Their accuracy guarantee alone is justification for spending the extra money!

Guys, the man said .5 MOA out to 300-400 yds. He did NOT say, ".5 at 300-400yds" There's a huge difference:

          .5 moa @ 100yds = .5"
          .5 moa @ 200yds = 1"
          .5 moa @ 300yds = 1.5"
          .5 moa @ 400yds = 2"

These are not outrageous claims - they're consistent with a GOOD shooter with a really good load for their rifle.

Man, 3 shots is not a group. 5 rounds is a group. If you are close enough I would love to see a bone stock 16" budget gun shoot .5moa at range. I do not know you so will not flat out call bs; however, I have been throwing sub .5moa to long distance for many years. I have yet to see a low dollar build do it.

It really chaps my hyde when guys with LaRues, LWRC, D.D.,POF's and similar (high end rifes) Basically tell anybody who owns or thinkin bout buying a budget AR-10 that they're junk or a waste of $. Ive personally out-shot a b.c.m.and a POF recently with my 10 and a full Noveske with my psa 5.56. All done with walmart ammo. Both are stock besides a made in TEXAS trigger and decent hunting optics on both

Show me where someone said or alluded to that.

                        He is saying a $500 AR-10 works the same as a $1000 AR-10. So get the $500 AR-10 or the high end AR-10, not the $1000 AR-10.

I have never, and will never, call your rifle 'junk`. I question the ability of a bone stock budget rifle that will consistently shoot .5 moa at range. Even if that range is 100 yards. It sounds like you can shoot a gas gun, most bolt gun shooters struggle with a gas gun regardless of price - until the time is put in to master follow through.

You have said above that you have a Texas trigger. I am guessing McCormick? That trigger is better than the stock trigger in most of the rifles you mentioned.

I am not sure what has you up in arms. Put a good hitter behind a budget gun vs a high quality receiver group, barrel and trigger and the high quality parts win every time, period. There really is nothing to argue.

You can get great deals on these sort of guns right now...this one was dang near new. Spend some time looking for a good used one vs the retail budget. It's much better money spent.

I just get tired of ppl with 2500$ piston guns acting like they're the bomb-diggity and talkin smack about "budget gas guns". Its not just on this particular forum or this website in general. It happens all the time. Im not butt-hurt or up in arms bubba. I actually really love when i hit up the range an smoke a guy a couple spots down with his factory POF or seekins or whatever it may be. And im doin it with a old green box of core-lokd. It makes me feel good in my pants, just sayin

Just put this PSA together and was able to get under 1" groups with it and spent right at $825, but I've already started changing out parts. I added a Kynshot buffer, Magpul stock, and fixing to add a muzzle brake.
