    Boyd's at one stock issue

Anyone have any issues with these yet? After a 2 week wait and paying for overnight shipping.... the holes in the stock for the action screws are off by about 1/16th of an inch and I don't really see a way to fix it. Any ideas or do I just need to send the stock back and eat the shipping 😰.

If it's 1/16", simply enlarge the holes and press on.

Or better yet; install pillars, bed the action and press on with pride.

I wish I was confident I could do this without screwing it up.

It's not rocket surgery. If you screw it up, simply fill the holes with bedding compound and re-drill them.

It's not hard, search this sight, CoachW made some good diy post about it and youtube should be loaded with good examples.

I have one on my TC Venture it worked perfect. I did sand out barrel channel some and bed it. But shooting one hole from my 7RM.

Well after trying to call Boyd's 4 times and sending 3 emails with no response this week not really sure what to do.. guess I may have to modify it to make it work

The one I got from them required extra sanding to get everything to fit up right. If you were closer I would help you out but maybe someone closer by will see this thread and can help you out. It really shouldn't be much to fix it.

I got the dremmel out Slowly making some progress. Started by taking a little off where the set screw for the trigger adjustment rides, had to take a little off the rear behind the safety also. Got it to actually set down in there now, have to do a little trimming on the left side so the safety selector will move now.. then we will see if it actually free floats.

Safety selector working. Action fits in stock. Have to make a little more space for the trigger adjustment screw to be able to be backed out at all. And free float the barrel. Any advice on free floating the barrel? It's really only touching on the left side in a few places

Definitely going to have to free float the barrel. Groups are worse with this stock than with the factory cheap stock. Also when I shoot the wood makes a creaking noise not sure if this
is from barrel contacting the stock or what. Same ammo, glass, suppressor and conditions.
