    AR 15 Shopping

I haven't shopped AR15s in a long time. My niece is looking to by her husband one for Christmas. What are good ARs to buy now for around 1000 dollars. I offered her one of my LWRC but she wanted to buy him a new one. Let me k ow where a good place to buy one is or should I part it out and build it for her ?

I'm completely ignorant with AR's but bought a cheap PSA. It seems like the costs of AR's is going down right now.

The gun buying market is very favorable right now, you can get a great AR well under 1000 even buying a complete ready to go rifle. With so many options do you know what he is going to use it for? The gun would different if it needs to be capable of 400 to 700 yd shots compared to a rifle capable of plinking and busting pigs at 50 to 150 yds. Lots of AR owners and knowledge here in the green screen.. can you drill down into the details of what he wants and we'll help you pinpoint a good one!

Check out Primary Arms, they're in pearland, they're a huge online retailer that also has a store front you can visit.

            X2

You still have to buy it online when you visit the storefront, but it saves you FFL fees.

This. You can get them under $800 even. They have a 6920 they are calling the Trooper that has a low pro gas block and Centurion M-lok rail. Look at slickguns.com. Some retailers have them for under $720.

LWRC Direct Impingement rifles are on sale right now and can be had for a hair over 1K.

AR prices are low. For $1000 you should be able to get a good gun and some optics.

Great rifle at a great price. Then she could spend the rest of her budget on a case of ammo or aimpoint PRO.

Edit: oops, apparently I don't know how to hotlink on this site?

Not sure that's for a complete rifle. I think that's just the upper.

Everything but the lower. The lower is $200 extra. But I think the kit minus lower was $699-750. I forget. It was crazy cheap.

Ruger AR 556. I have one have and have hit coyotes at 300, very accurate for a "cheaper" AR. Was less than 700 online shipped to ffl. Put a nikon p-223 scope on it for 175.

This was three years ago have seen deals for $499 from buds and others online.
