    Berger Load Development

I found a thread that I believe may answer my question, but figured I'd just make another with a point blank question.

Should I load a medium charge and work with bullet jump first, then tweak my charges after I find the best jump?

Or should I choose one jump, load different charges and then tweak my jumps once I find the charge?

I go with option A and have a really good word document from Dustoffer. It's the method he used when performing load development commercially.

Take a look at the Berger website, they have some good info regarding bullet jump and load development.

In reality both methods work fine and it comes down to preference.

PM if you'd like that word document.

A lot depends on which Berger bullet as to how I approach it. Hybrids are not that depth sensitive like VLDs.

VLDs like to be seated to the lands in many cases though good accuracy an be found further off the lands. If Mag length allows I will start with the VLDs kissing the lands lightly and work powder charge. If mag length does not allow for VLDs to be seated that long then will work with what will function through the mag unless working a single shot.

I usually use method B but sometimes use method A.

When I was first using the VLD berger I went with option A.

Normally when reloading I use option B.
