    Full Auto ?

Has anyone went through the process to get a FFL SOT to own a full auto weapon?

    I'm really itching for one

I've got a m11. It's basically the same as owning a suppressor. You basically call a dealer w a class 3 ffl. Talk to them about what your wanting to buy. You find it, then the dealers have to pow wow to transfer the weapon, then u wait it out w the nfa process. I bought mine about 10 years ago. It's the only one I own and only one I will ever buy again. They're fun no Doubt, but loose their luster over time. People ask me what it's Like to shoot it and I tell em it's a bullet hose. You pull the trigger and it's done. Lots of fun but u will tear thru ammo faster than a fat kid thru cake.

Process for full autos is the same as suppressors. Only stipulation is it has to be pre-86. If you want day stuff you need an ffl and sot. After that you would have to have a demo letter from a law enforcement agency.

Same as a suppressor. I can help you locate one if needed

What type of MG are you wanting and what do you want to use it for?
Depending on the answer to those questions you might have a couple other options that will "scratch the itch" so top speak without dropping $25K.

Have you considered a bumpsaw instead?
What about an AR with a binary style trigger?
Both can be tons of fun and done for 1/10th the cost.

BUT if you're wanting a F/A Thompson, those aren't really gonna be the same.

                    I don't own one though, I wish!

FFL SOT not required. Just open your wallet.

There are FAs for the $3500-5000 mark. Lots around 10-12k.

Admittedly, I am not super well versed in the FFL/SOT/FA stuff, and was initially thinking of transferables. It still seems it all depends on what you want though because something nice like I posted about previously is still really gonna cost you.

Even with something like you mentioned above would be in the neighborhood of 4-6K for a lower end item after you pay the FFL & SOT costs right?

If all you want to do is turn money into noise more efficiently theres been quite a few items come to market lately. I was just wondering if he had considered any of those options that are available without all the hoop jumping
