depends. others may chime in as I have only a little experience but here goes. yes they are simple to put in and take out. The tools come with the set. are you going to buy sidekicks or fitted full length tubes? Either are fairly simple to put in and take out. You will want to use only WinchesterAA or Remington STS shells. Anything else has a softer head and when they expand after firing they WILL get stuck in the chamber. I believe Berettas require an inertia block on the trigger mechanism. sub gauges don't always have enough recoil to reset the trigger for the second barrel. I have full length Kolar tubes for my Blaser and love them.
I'm glad this was brought up because I'm on the fence about tubes for my 725. I shoot with some guys who run sidekicks successfully. From talking to them and also reading reviews, the 20ga is great, the 28ga is pretty good but the 410 set is sketchy.
I handled a 682 yesterday with 32" barrels and a full length set of companion tubes. They had balanced it out with weight in the stock and it felt fine. That said, i couldn't help but think that it could be a problem changing direction to pick up a second bird on the clays course. As for them fitting tight, I watched him put them in and he was able to push them in with his thumb and then tap them with the little hammer to seat them.
I've had both fitted tubes and companions. I much prefer the fitted tubes. They will be flush with the muzzle and will not rattle around after several uses like the companions will. If you have briley do the conversion, you will have no reliability issues with re-set on the .410 barrels. The companions do have the ability to be used in multiple guns and they will tolerate a dirty barrel better, but I still prefer the fitted versions for sure.
