    Remington or Weatherby

I am trying to choose between a Remington 700 ADL and a Weatherby Vanguard. Both are in 270, what should I get?

Rem 700 has far more aftermarket parts available. The Rem 700 action is very familiar to good gunsmiths. But if you're leaving it stock, pick whichever you prefer.

I'd get the Vanguard over the ADL. I hate a bolt gun that doesn't have a floor plate to unload the magazine.

Probably can't go wrong with either, I like having a floorplate so no ADL's for me.

            Remington or Weatherby

Vanguard over the ADL all day. You can trick out a Remington much easier than the Weatherby but if you're just wanting a reliable, accurate hunting rig I'd go Weatherby.

I have both. Like both. Really enjoy the floor plate on the Weatherby. Stock trigger on the Weatherby is better IMHO.

Don't think you can go wring with either selection. Would come down to a price comparison for me if I were in your shoes.

The Vanguard is more comparable to a BDL. The ADL is more comparable to a Savage 110. If I were choosing between a Vanguard and a BDL, it would be a tougher choice. Aftermarket parts for the 700 might swing me that direction over the Vanguard. But I wouldn't own an ADL or any other rifle without a floorplate. Been there and done that. Never again. Just too much hassle.

I would get any Weatherby model as long as it is a Mark V. No trigger issues with this bad boy. Plus, There is no comparison between the ballistics of a 270 Winchester and Weatherby 270 magnum.

So they say. Luckily, I haven't gotten any bad apples myself.

That was exactly what I was thinking. I have the Mark V 270 Wetherby mag. It's my main shooter. It's pretty devastating

I think the Remington is made in America and I know the weatherby is made in Japan. Could be wrong. I own a mark v and its a great rifle. Good luck.

                              weatherby

the last few Rem's ive purchased have been nightmares. every weatherby I have ever purchased (many) have been great. you will be surprised of the accuracy in the cheaper vg's!
